Planting Seed

We'll all have bustling veggie gardens soon (due to our ingenious prezz, and the RAGING grocery and gas prices!) Hypothetically though: is there a seed you have planted yet have not ensured to water and protect it so that it might grow to its full potential? How might you start to do that today?
